Robert J. Chaban, ARIDO, IDC
Robert Chaban, an honour graduate of the Ontario
College of Art, Toronto, Canada, has spent over thirty-five years
specializing in the design of hospitality facilities, primarily in
hotel environments.
Following
early opportunities of working for prominent design houses that
specialized in hotels, his expanded knowledge of furniture manufacturing
was acquired as he directed the design studio of a major hotel casegoods
manufacturer. His experience was furthered through corporate positions
with hotel chains such as the Commonwealth Holiday Inns and Skyline
Hotels. His projects ranged throughout Europe, Central America, the
Caribbean, the Middle East and North America, making his understanding
of hotel design and operations unparalleled.
Robert Chaban is a concerned design
professional. He has served on the Board of Management of the Association
of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) for six years,
as chairman of the Membership Committee, member of the Finance and
Executive Committees and as President of ARIDO for two years. He
has provided his leadership and dedication for several years to the Advisory
Committee for the Interior Design Department at Humber College in
Toronto and remains a member of the Board of Governors of ARIDO. Recently, Mr. Chaban has been recognized for his distinguished service to the betterment of the interior design profession by being made a Fellow Member of ARIDO, the highest honour the organization bestows.
